It appears the battery is dead on my model B. A couple questions.
1. It's a 6 volt. When I connect the charger should the charger be set on 6 volt or 12 volt? 2. When charging, should the battery be always taken out or can I hook the cables up with the battery left in the battery box with the terminals still connected? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Going orange is going great!

I'll be interested in seeing the replies to this. On my 6 volt CA I always charge it on 6 volts and take the cables off the battery since it's a positive ground system. Then I can charge it the normal way without worrying about anything.

I set mine to six volt 2 amp and leave the battery hooked up, put the positive cable on the positive terminal and the negative cable on the negative terminal of the battery.

If it is the original positive ground htere is no reason to disconnect the battery. Put the charger on 6 volts cause that's what you are charging. Connect the negative clamp to the NEG post on the battery and connect the positive clamp on a good ground away from the battery.
