Your oil pressure line that runs to the gauge could be pluged with sludge

Normal for a WD45 to have low oil pressure. 7LBs at max. MACK

Dose it have the correct oil pressure gauge? Also some oil filters do not provide enough resriction.

Check with a 30psi max, known good gauge. Is the filter stem in place? If not, you won't have back pressure from the filter and thus no pressure to the bearings. Could be the sump screen is plugged with some of that crud. Maybe check the spring in the pressure relief. Might need primed if it was flushed out and if the check vavle in the pump is leaking????
These ole engines will run for years with 5lbs of oil pressure. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 21 Apr 2012 at 7:14am |

Okay I'll have to checking all.its h original guage so it should be right.ill just have to clean it out. I'm running an agcopartsbook filter from my local old Allis dealer so I think that's good I just think she's plugged up and needs to have the oil change s few times

Agco sold bad filters for a time. If it has a rubber ring in the bottom and pleated filter, it's no good. There should be a tin plate covering the bottom with holes in it.

If it's one of those bad filters, the engine won't run long with it on there without needing the crank ground and new bearings all the way around.

Take it off and look at it. If it has a rubber ring in the bottom and pleated filter, it's no good.
There should be a tin plate covering the bottom with holes in it.
Look at this link. The first picture is of a bad one the second is what you need. http://personalpages.tds.net/~thompson_wp/acb/filter/oilfilter.htm Make sure it has this tube in it also. ![]() Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 21 Apr 2012 at 12:28pm |

would have been the time to install new cam brgs.good cam brgs are crucial to good oil pressure on these engines

You should start a new post, instead of hanging your question on another persons old post.
You might try pushing oil in the line that feeds the filter base, to help prime the pump. The filter AND the stem that goes up thru the filter have to be in place to develop any noticeable pressure on the gauge. |
