Or is there suddenly a lot more aftermarket parts than there was a few years ago! Seems like you can get a lot more stuff for you AC tractors from retailers other than AGCO now?!

When AGCO consistently prices parts as if they were displacing gold bullion in the warehouse, they create an aftermarket opportunity. And its a lot easier to copy machined parts than electronic parts for new tractors.

Like even within the last couple years, gauges are more readily available! Tachometer and fuel gauges especially.

When restoring my Ferguson of all the parts I purchased I think 99% did not come from AGCO the new Massy company.  99% came from aftermarket vendors.

It's better to support them anyways... AGCO will survive without my buisness...or any other AC collector for that matter, but the little guy needs some support to keep providing the parts I need.

It's not only in tractors this is happening, small companies in places like India, Nam, and other Asian countries see a opportunity to fill a void.
British motorcycle parts can now be bought as reproductions, gas tanks for 70 year old bikes, new instruments like speedo and tach with a look as good as original parts.
One thing is the patent may have expired and or the demand is there for restoration parts and OEM  supply has disappeared.
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
