Going to go look at a stationary motor soon. The guy said it came out of a hospital that used it for a back up power. He said it looks like the ones on gleaner combines. My guess is a buda. He said it was run on lp. What should I look for on it. turns over the paint hasn't even been burnt off the manifold yet.

I suppose it could be a Buda or a Chevy engine. Either way is the coolant rusty, oil clean, hoses not leaking. Stuff like that.
Yea, I can fix that.....

went to look at the 6 motor today. forgot the camera. HAVE NO CLue what it is. from the back the dist. and plugs are on the left. and the right has the manifold. No I.D. tag to be found the generator is still atached. head seamed wide and had treaded head studs th the right of the valve cove above the manifold. top water hook up was on the left side of the head. If it is a Allis motor I have no clue. Any one on here have a top view picture of a gleaner 262 or a 190 gas motor? It  had like these inspection plates on the dist side of the block. Still have no idea what it is.

Inspection plates sound like a Chevy? Water outlet would be on right hand side of head behind the intake/exhaust manifold on a Buda 230/262.

Chevy engines had inspection plates and distributor on rt from flywheel end and manifold on the left. AC engines had dist on left and manifold on rt- rear view and no inspection plates. It's neither.  Ford or Chrysler?
