I need to order parts for my WD45 and my Model C hydraulic pumps. I know that
the serial # on the C is on the top, but where can I find the number for the 45?

Left brake housing on the back. There is a flat spot, should start with WDxxx Pretty sure they never changed the pump on the WD45 so the year doesn't matter.

Not the serial # on the tractor, I know what that is. I need the serial # on the PTO. For kits, it says something like 'previous to serial number'... I don't think they were referring to the tractor serial #. I don't know, maybe you guys are right?

On the PTO ? Why would the PTO have any bearing on the Hydraulic Pump ? I think their talking about the tractor serial number.

Ted, they are refering to the tractor serial number. Another place that a serial number is sometimes stamped is on the top flange of the hydraulic pump. That serial number doesn't always match the serial number on the tractor, I don't think any of mine do.

Everything I can think of on the old tractors having a serial number break always refers to the tractor chassis. The exceptions might be out sourced parts like a diesel fuel injection pump. I took a look at the parts manual and see no references to a serial number break in the hyd pump. Parts were the same from the first WD to the last WD45.

Sounds like what happens when you go to NAPA anymore. If you don't have the exact part # and the model it applies to, you can't buy a part. Use to walk in and tell em what I was looking for and the fellow would find it.
