I recently bought a 190 XT for my winter project, and so far a project its been,,,lol. I got the tractor home, and ran it some, and had to have the injector pump rebuilt. After installing the pump the tractor doesnt run right, it seems to have a miss , and smokes awfull. I am sure that I got it back in time, I messed with it this past weekend, and it seems to be blowing oil, or diesel out of the manifold before it goes into the turbo. This has me stumped.
I have gotten lots of useful info from the fine folks on this forum in the past , so please help me again.
Thanks for your help
Rodd

Rod , when you have it running and here the miss start with the front or back and crack the injector lines one at a time at the injector end of the line it should miss worse then tighten back move to the next one till you  get to the one that has a miss that will most like be the one shut it down and pull the injector you will find the problem, at least that was how found the very tip gone off mine, took them all out and had them redone run's like a champ now.
Just a thought it's where I start, GOOD LUCK.

Rodd, I have found on my 190 that problems are often less severe than they first seem. Mine has had the appearance of blowing oil or diesel in th area you suggested and upon inspection found that water had came down the stack, pooled in the elbow area, mixed with the exhaust, and blew out what I thought was oil and the need of big repair. I corrected a bent exhaust flap and corrected the problem. With luck yours could be something simple. I have beenclose many times to injector or hydraulic pump rebuilds only to find something minor.

Rodd, hopefully its noting too severe.  Mine had a similar problem.  Miss, unburnt fuel in manifold.  I ended up doing a compression and leak down test only to find a couple leaking valves.  I'm in the process of getting the head rebuilt now.  Before that, I had rebuilt all the injectors also thinking that would help, but no luck.  "though, the injectors did need rebuilt too due to dripping/plugged nozzle tips also"

How EXTREME were you in making sure the lines injectors, and so on were clean when you put that new pump on?  All to often I see somebody put a brand new or rebuilt pump on under a shade tree, almost literally.  I am not saying you weren't careful, but even the smallest particle of dirt, can foul an injector, the pump is probably fine, and timed fine, but you may have gotten a bit of foreign material in one of the fittings, and now the injector is plugged and not atomizing.  The black oily fuel like junk coming out of the pre-turbo exhaust is normal after they sit awhile, but not once they get up to operating temp, if it is still doing it at that point, it is probably fuel, and you are washing down the cylinder wall which could lead to another problem, which is even worse.  Do the crack line test above, and when you find the cylinder that is missing, leave the line cracked and see if your smoke also disappears after a few seconds, if it does you more than likely have a plugged tip on an injector.
