That is one very pretty collection of "ALLIS"s you have there. Thank you very much for getting them all out and taking and showing us all your pride and joy. If you ever need some cash be sure and let us know, because i know one or two people that would help you get rid of some of that iron. Very nice, Thank You

Must ask, were any of your tractors purchased from or have any of the dealer decals from Bennett Implement in Elgin??

I don't believe so but they did sell alot of gleaners in our area. I bought some rear wheel weights from the back of a gleaner and written inside of them in black marker was "Bennet Imp". About 5 years ago we went over to the old owner of Bennett that started it in the day he had an old WC to sell. It was neat talking to him. I think he has passed away since then

He was my wife's grandpa. The rest of the family has little interest in the AC stuff. Though I am a die hard International guy, I bought the unstyled WC to keep it in the family. I did also end up with some advertising plates and several of the original dealer decals from the dealership. It's too bad I wasn't around sooner. Would love to see your collection sometime when I am back visiting family.

Ya any time just let me know, i know he had an original AC grain moisture tester in his garage. I wonder what ever happened to there sign at the dealership, i know the posts are still out front and in the back it looks like they have a aluminum frame of what was probably the ac sign but it's missing the plastic. Inside i remember they had the gleaner sign that moves but i am not sure who runs the shop now i know they have a d17 outside that is all weighted up. Sad that the family was not interested in the allis chalmers stuff. I know he had interesting storys and if my memory serves me right he had a huge gun collection. Again let me know when your back were West of Madison and i use to date a gal from Elgin so i know Elgin pretty well.

No I don't believe we do, maybe one did but no decals on them from there. I know wells is still doing good business and they got one of the Best AC mechanics around. Ive got a 170 gas that i am working at in Omaha at my uncles shop and found out i needed a float would you image in the closest AGCO dealer was almost 40 miles away.

Someone bought the shop, wouldn't be surprised if they ended up with the signs. More than likely the moisture tester is still there. He also had some neat memorbilia from dealer trips. Inlaws also have some toys that were barely played with, like 190XT farm set still in the box, L Gleaner, and a few 8000's. Seems like the dealership was closed in 1985, and I didn't starting coming around til 93 or 94. I certainly did enjoy talking to him about both the tractors and his exploits in WWII flying P47's.

Yep HE had a P47 metal silohette mounted on the cattle gaurd of his Ford Ranger. Talked alot about the motors and his missions he flew. He had great storys I am glad you ended up with the WC we wondered what had happened to it. He called us after the local REA put my family in there magazine for our tractor collections. HE said they quit when Duetz took over

That is one nice GOYO (Get Out YOur Orange) day. That took some work to mow the lawn, shine the tractors and then park them all just so. Then, when all the pictures are taken, well, back to the shed they go. Get out a tape measure and figure to see how far it is from the ground up to the deck on each of your treasures. In total, how far did you climb that day? You put some work in. Thank you.
