   How can you tell what # boittom you have on a plow ie. 375. 363 i have a 2000 series plow with a 387 but i have a 70s series and a 60s series and dont know what the moldboard or bottom # is is there a part # stamped on it that i could cross to to bottom # and if os dose anyone have a cross-ref. thanks Tom     PS i also have a 50s series plow that i need shins for if i can figure out what # moldboard i have. THANKS AGAIN TOM.

	The most reliable way to identify a bottom is to find a number on moldboard, frog, or share. A couple of use have the plow bottoms parts book with numbers. Many a bottom had up to a dozen options for shares and a few share shares. Landsides were shared over a wider range. And in the 371, 372, 373 family only the moldboards are different to identify the bottom. My plow bottoms book does not show the differences in moldboard angle, curve and shape that make each plow bottom number unique. There is a slim chance that bottoms can be identified from a picture taken with the plow bottom assembly laying on the landside and looking horizontally into the bottom. There are differences in frog shape, bracing, and share mountings. Last summer AC plows I saw at shows sometimes the moldboard number was visible without turning the plow over or taking the moldboard off. Look for a 6 digit number or an 8 digit number. If its a 3 digit number its an aftermarket part and probably that number is the plow bottom number. Gerald J.

	The problem with finding the part numbers is they were stenciled on (See below pictures), at least what I have observed. So over time the numbers have faded, been rusted over, or painted over. I have a whole pile of AC plow shares and can't find a number on the majority of them. I wish Allis had stamped the numbers.

	That could be a No. 325 bottom. The dash number is probably the width. Which you can measure on the plow frame. Tip the plow over on its landside and take a picture as if you were 2' below the plow in its normal position and shooting straight up. I saw several AC plows at shows in August that did have 6 digit numbers stamped in the moldboards. So clear I had no trouble taking pictures of them. For example a for 16" #325 bottom. 	387 bottom works well with the oliver 219 bottom have an 80 series and plowed with my dad all the time parts are or was available shins etc
