I saw a WD once with WD45 decals after being repainted but it had a WD serial number, a straight shifter and a plate on the side of the engine block. I didn't talk to the owner or follow up on the for sale sign.

I almost got thrown out of an auction because I corrected the auctioneer when he called it a 45 because it had 45 decals.  I later decided he did know what he was doing and he's now on my "auction black list".

Know what you mean....  There is a radio show on called:'The Buy Line' and there was a guy selling a tractor for his son (don't call till after 5) that stated it was a 1952 WD-45.  I keep forgetting to call and tell him what he really has.

For some reason, the WD45 decals were put on many tractors. Our WD has the 45 decals, and a nearby styled WC with a WD block also has 45 decals. The PO of our WD told us that the fellow who redid the tractor couldn't find a WD decal set so he used the 45 decals.

That is simliar to a Model B with a factory narrow front end. Or a CA with a bench seat and a serial number that starts with only a C.

All of the WD decal sets I've ordered had the 45 decals in with the set (one set is used for both the WD and the 45). I figure when a lot of people paint the tractor they add the 45 decals to make them feel better.

Farmall decal sets are the same way. You order a set for a M and it comes Super M decals also. I even seen some M sets that also had MTA, Super MTAD, MD, and MTA decals in the set.
