o-k...lost a wheel on the disk, the question is...the shaft that the wheel is on runs thru a pipe, then a single bolt goes thru the shaft and pipe...took the bolt off, been soaking that shaft in panther pee for a month, still can't get that shaft out! is it welded in or is it supposed to slide outta the pipe? gotta either get a new shaft or have this one turned as there is some damage to it! and it's an outside wheel on the transport half!

At work we have Schulte 15ft mowers that have what sounds like the same thing. The first time we take the spindle out of them, we had to take the hole axle assy off the mower and put in a press (25ton) and still use A LOT, of heat. to get them out. We always put them back in with anti-seeze and the next time we can tap them out with a 16 oz hammer. We bend the spindles a lot from catching them in colvert pipe.

Are there any threads left at all? Are they far enough gone you could thread it with a smaller size without taking it out?  I bought a 2600 disc that was listed as "for parts" because of the same problem.  I bought a self-locking nut that had the right threads (listed as a front wheel bearing lock nut for an M Farmall, I can find the part number if you want), put it on with new bearings, drug the disc home almost 80 miles behind my truck, and have disced around 1000 acres with it since with no trouble.  I think it was a $15 dollar fix all told.
