Has anybody had a hand clutch in a WD or WD45 stick in the engaged position? I have one that is in a tractor that has sat for many years and wonder of its some thing that will work free or if I need to pull it apart. It still snaps and feels normal but does not affect the motion of the tractor.
Thanks in advance for any help or opinions, Denis |

I would keep driving it around and popping that hand clutch in and out. Maybe it will free itself up after a few hours of operation etc. I would say if it still doesnt work after that you might wanna start thinking about tearing into the linkages and maybe pulling it apart.

The plates have most likely rusted togather. Pull the top off and with it released drive a screwdriver between the plates to seperate them. MACK

i remember a WD45 that Larry Swenson bought that the previous owner had bought it new and never used the hand clutch. It would not work either. Dave.

My cousin's 45 had the same problem on a tractor that he used every day. it snapped in and out but never released. He pulled the cover and found that a pin had fallen out of the linkage and wasn't releasing one side. Yours is most likely the plates stuck from sitting.
