I wanted a 3 point 3-14 plow but could not find a good deal. Bought this SC plow today. Plan is to convert it to 3 point hitch. Will not need the two lift arms, adjustable tilt link, or the SC eye or beam.. Are they worth anything other than steel price ?

I'd for sure save the lift arms and SC eye. I know I've bought one eye from another member (for more than scrap price, but still a good deal), and I'm sure you'll find someone needing one eventually... probably true for the lift arms too.

Steve, if you make that three point, where are you going to mount the front coulter ?

how about running the coulter arm straight up to the center top link bracket area and putting a "short" 6-8 inch long beam in place of the SC beam... thats why i want to know if its worth selling or cutting.

Steve, The coulter needs to be able to move left and right some. I'm also not sure if you will be able to get the draft anywhere near right doing this. What tractor are ya gonna put this on ? You couldn't find any allis, IH, ferguson, ford or dearborn 3 pt. plows around ?

Steve, I've been selling the pieces for $20 bucks a piece. Doesn't matter what it is, it makes it easier for this old man to remember the price.

Well, here is a picture today with all the spare SC parts removed. Cross shaft was setting 6 inches behind the tip of the front bottom, so i cut the SC beam and added a foot to each side. Cross shaft is just wired onto position to show how it will look. I looked on e-bay at a dozen 3 point plows and looks like the cross shaft is normally forward a few inches of the front point. This plow will go on a tractor that has a drawbar beam (front to back) about 4 inches from the lift arm ends, so i wanted a couple extra inches of clearance.

Im thinking of turning the left end of the cross shaft down to 1-1/8 inch to fit the 3 point arm. On the right side, maybe take a 4 x 8 plate about 3/4 inch thick and hang it over the cross shaft pointing down, then mount a 1-1/8 inch pin onto the plate so the RIGHT side is 4 inches lower than the left. Still wondering if i need to make it adjustable front to rear for bottom alignment, or can i fix it vertically below the cross shaft.

Cross shaft turned to size and mounted. 4 inch drop on the right side. Original upright frame mounted and anchored to rear of main frame. Just have to add adjustable arm from right side of cross shaft back to frame for plow adjustment... then clean and paint.
