i'm thinking of buying a subsoiler. i live in eastern canada and my fornt horse paddock ( 150' x 150' ) has poor drainage. the soil is like a brick clay ( no rock ) and is bad for water drainage. will my d15 pull a sub soiler well enough to do the job. thanks

I pulled one with my D15 series II this fall in a garden area. The ground was not that hard and I have no weights or fluid. Pulled it full shank deep.

Try one like this if you can find one. Your D-15 will pull it. |

These subsoilers, and the curved shank style, were made for Allis Chalmers by the Athens plow co. from tennessee

This is a snap-coupler model #3 sub-soiler. You'll note I have the PTO removed in this picture but I really wouldn't have had to take it off for this model of subsoiler.
It will make the WD-45 bark a little if it's all the way in the ground.
Don, thanks again for the decal. I got some nice compliments on it when I took it to the Penfield show a couple of years ago. Edited by Brian F(IL) - 02 Dec 2011 at 9:35am |

Your welcome.

Don(MI) that is the same on that I have. I think it was made for the CA, which is what I pull it with. Picked it up for $75.00 several years ago. Bob

No, my dad made that for me.
Flat sheet steel about 3/8" thick, with a rod welded on, and a collar welded on further up, where the drawbar pin would be. It just rest on there nice. Another one of dads good ideas!
