went to Tri Green's sale yesterday and ran into R Akin and Barney Taylor. What a nice day to be there and shot the breeze with both for a little bit. Rich was taking a pic of a mint snow blower that had sold. He will post some pics when he gets time
Had a nice 18  0 with a loader and a 190 with a loader that was no sales in auction. Had a 185 that was "popping" out the air cleaner that only made it to 1750 and was a no sale. D 17 S4 with loader made it to 2900 i believe and was a no sale |

If it gets a bid it should sale. if the owners wants a minimum bid that is the starting point. I seen auctions done that way. Most of the time the auctioneer sets the minimum bid and it is a reasonable stating point and everyone knows it. it always amazes me the people I meet at auctions. They will take the time and explain what and how something was used for. The come the bidding.... That is my 2 cents on auctions.

Went to a sale today in Northern Colo. Some nice stuff, most kind of rough though. Bought a Hesston 4600 baler for $2750. Didn't plan on buying one but couldn't pass it up at that price. Was surprised no one out bid me. One thing one of the auctioneers kept doing that seemed dumb was start the bidding way too high, like $5,000 for the baler, probably spent a minute trying to get $5500 until someone finally said "$1,500" and got things going. He did that with every thing he sold and I would guess he wasted a good half an hour with that tactic. It wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't blowing 40+MPH cold from Wyoming. I'm still trying to warm up 10 hr later!

Larry, I thought you said that you were not to take pictures on the compeny phone. I onlt bought 22 pices of eouipment, no tractors this month.

Most sales I've been to, they pull that tactic all the time, never get's em anywhere, yet the final bid always seems to be above the first start number. Been tempted to bid the high start number, just to scare of those that might want it. Never have, cause I always think I can get it lower, guess that's why nobody else ever does either.
