I have recently aquired a 1962 d-15 and am wondering about a few things. Mine is painted yellow and has a TS-500 loader and a backhoe attachment but is not equipped with a pto. This is the only one I've seen with no pto at all. Is this a normal set up and how about the yellow paint, was that a color option. Orange is all I've seen til this one. It does run well but smokes very bad. It has been sitting up for several years.

Check the tractor serial # to see if it is a D15 or an I-60/ I-600 which are industrial models of the D15.

You have a fairly rare D-15 industrial. It will likely have a heavy duty non adjustable front axle. Does it have fixed rear wheels? Does it have a left had shuttle?

D series tractors are pretty new for me but it should have an engine serial # and a tractor serial #. The tractor serial # is on the torque tube right behind the motor. Your description sounds like an industrial.

The only thing I've found adjustable on front end is tie rod ends. It does have fixed rear wheels but I don't understand the shuttle part. I'm sorry I don't know that much about these tractors. I'm just getting started at this

The shuttle is the shuttle clutch or hand clutch.

The hand lever is the shuttle and Calvin was wondering if it's on the left or the right side.

the part about having forward and reverse on the hand clutch is a very rare, but neat option. I'd say definitely a D15 industrial

Since it smokes real bad and you don't know much about it, you should just put it on a trailer and haul it up to me. By the time you get here, I'll have written a book on the tractor and will sign it for you. LOL Charlie

I'D SAY IT'S AN I-60 OR I-600. MY I-40 HAS THE SHUTTLE (FORWARD & REVERSE LEVER ) ON THE LEFT SIDE. NO PTO . IT HAS A D-10 ENGINE SERIAL #. SOLID FRT AXLE, HEAVY INDUSTRIAL LOADER, & HEAVY STEEL RADIATOR GAURD. i DON'T HAVE THE BACKHOE ATTACHMENT THOUGH.

You have a rare bird there. Very few D series have the shuttle reverse instead of the normal power director (like a T/A on a Farmall).

Yellow industrial D series tractors started in 1961. D-15 II did not become a real industrial tractor (I-60 until 1964) Same for the D-10/12 when the D-10 III became the I-40 in 1964. When I-40's became I-400's and I-60's became I-600 the differance was in the backhoe not the tractor. I've seen D-14's with the factory Shuttle. My neighbour converted his D-15 II with a 415 loader from a Power Director to a Shuttle in 1976 after I showed him how it worked on my I-60. Today that D-15 is still the only loader tractor on his farm.

The levers that you saw on the left side of the steering column would be traction booster and position control for the lift arms for the snap coupler hitch, which your tractor does not have on it because it is an industrial.Darrel
