I have a 1952 CA SER #21868, that the foot clutch gave out on me.I was looking for prices on ytmag and they have two different size of clutchs, one is a 8.5in and the other is a 9in, both are marked for B,C,and CA. Sandy Lake is the same way with the size and both are marked for B,C,andCA. Is there a SER# break that they put different size of clutchs in the CA? I need to know so I can order one, and put her back together again. Thanks Josh

If it were me, I would call them in person and give them your serial number and they will send you the correct parts.....

I did with Sandy lake and they asked me what size I had. I just started to tear it a part so I can't measure it yet.

The CA used the 8.5" clutch as did the B & C with electric start. The 9" clutch was used on crank start models. There wasn't enough space to add a ring gear so the went to a 8.5" clutch.
The D14 and D15 use a 9" clutch. Bob

I find it odd that Sandy Lake does not know this ? They are usually very knowledegable.

I know, Brenda asked me what size I had and Bill thought it had the 9in clutch. I'm glad I got a second opinion.

Actually some of the crank start B models used an 8.5" clutch.
I've had 8 B's 3 C's and 4 CA's, 1951 and 1952 , apart and this is what I found on every one of them. Some of them had a solid disk and some had springs in them.
