WD hydraulics

I have a couple of questions on WD hydraulic pump.
1. It the Hydraulic pump on the WD and the WD45 the same ?

2. The hold on my WD no longer holds. It needs rebuilt. Can you buy a rebuild kit from Agco?

3. If you can buy a rebuild kit, how expensive is it?

4. Is it hard to rebuild the hydraulic pump?

A cuople of years back, I ordered a kit from Dean Ag from Maryville, Mo. 71.52 plus freight. there was a gentleman named Albert Salsbury, he knows that pump better than I know my mother, well almost.  He was very helpful. Also, the folks at Sandy lake somewhere in the east, are very helpful. I would have to say any of the sponsers of this site will treat you very good. You will need a manual to rebuild it. If Mack answers, he can tell you which parts you need, and not the whole kit. One  question, are the cylinders holding,or leaking by? Dean Ag 800-589-2426.  Hope this helps.

I had the adjustment right on the pump, so it should hold when you set it..and it doesn't hold. I have a 3 pt adapter on it. I run a 3 pt bush hog behind the WD. You can't set it in any place in the middle and have it stay there. I set the hydraulic pump on the adjust mode I think it is called. And I just can't get it to hold in the middle. Any help is appreciated.

The way they looked to me after repacking them, the fluid would have to be leaking on the ground, coming out where the shaft goes in. It must be in the pump, or you would have noticed the leak. I was not the one who rebuilt my pump and valve. The valve is connected to the pump. that could be the culprit. Sorry, I'm not the expert. I hope one gives you better answers. Good luck!

Pastor Mike...hmmm ever been on ihub?Anyway WD's are almost impossible to adjust and hold like modern tractors.I had the same problem with mine and the best fix IMO is to lower your cutter onto a 2x4 or brick or something that is the height you normaly cut.Next drill a half inch dole on each lift arm and one on the corner of the plate ubder the seat.bolt a piece of 5/16 chain or better to the lift arms about 8 inches long or so and put a heavy hook onthe other end.When the lift is raised you can hook the chains and lower the lift and it will stop at the right height and that is your stop.A little work...not much,but really works for a WD used for bushhogging....well it works for me....hope this helps.

I knew it would not be like modern tractors, but I think it should be better than what it is. Your idea sounds good. I may try it!
