we have a customers AC forklift with an engine same as D15 diesel that has major problems - any salvage units out there with crank and block good? bgequipparts@yahoo.com or 731 642 1242

Also I know it is not recommended but Republic Diesel in Louisville Ky. rebuilt (welded and resized) a crank for me 30 years ago and it is still going strong |

The 175 diesel is a Perkins and is differant from the D15 in both size and design

The D-175 engine was the diesel engine model number for the D-15D and HD-3s, the number was from the cubic inches 175 of them it is actually a Buda desgin Lanova type Diesel ( Injector sprays into a power cell instead of dierectly down on the piston) The biggest problem for these engines was if they got overheated the heads had a bad tendancy to crack, also this engine is a 4 cylinder version of the WD45D D-17D and D-19D

Yep, the 175 cid diesel as used in the D15 is basically a 262 missing 2 cylinders. They use the same pistons and sleeves. I'm pretty sure the bearings and connecting rods are the same too.

Yes, same bearings, sleeves, pistons, rings, conecting rods, power cells, etc just uses 2 less of everything
