Here is a couple of photos of my WD in the working mode...
The cultivator does not have the rear section behind the rear wheels. I had trouble getting the cultivator to go in the ground. There were a couple of problems... First.. The hydraulic cylinder did not want to go down easily. After I got it down the then the gangs themselves did not want to go in the ground very far...their was slack on the lift mechnism...I think it was just rust paint keeping it from going lower. I actually had to get off the tractor and stand on the cultivator to get it to go down...and then it just did not want to go down. Again to recap this was after I got the hydraulic cylinder to go down and there was slack on the lift mech. it was not holding the cultivator up... Pastor Mike |

That looks like a nice unit. The shovels look about right, they should be within a couple of degrees of being flat on the ground when they are set down on concrete. To loosen the gangs set some wood blocks all the same size under the shovels of one gang and raise and lower the cultivator. Spray all of the moving joints liberally with your favorite penetrant oil. After you get it loosened oil all of those joints.
I have a 2 row like yours and a couple of 4 rows.

Spent many hours on a WD and 2 row cultivator just like that one. It did a good job, went in the ground good also. We did cultivate 4 rows, Dad had a JD A with 2 row and I had the WD with 2 row.

Mnhorseman,
A four row with out power steering and 120 lbs...it was a hard turn and you built up the arms...My Dad had a 720 JD with a 6 row but it had power steering.. John, you collect cultivators man that is neat! Thanks for the tip on getting it loosened up...next year when I get it mounted again I will do that. I had sprayed penetrating oil on it already it was getting better. Dennis how is it your Dad let you drive the better tractor? :) |

Glad to see you got it up and running. I couldn't get dad to part with the rear attachment. Nice looking setup you've got.

I had posted in the Classified section a few weeks ago, an ad for WD cultivator parts For Sale. I have for the most part two, 4 row mounted cultivators I'm parting out. I have two of the rear tool bars left. Anyone going from OH to IA? By the way, nice rig. I like to see tractors with implements attached. I have a 4 row for my WD45 but haven't mounted it yet. Let me know if you want any photos etc.
