iam i need of help,my c has 2 broken wheel studs.
how does axel come out.
the process would be helpful.
what type of puller will be needed, if needed?

You don't need to pull the axle. Just wack then out with a punch and pull new ones in with a lugnut and washer. the wheel needs to be removed.

the studs will not back out all the way, becuase of housing.
axel has to come out enough to allow studs to exit.
i need to know how axel is removed

Seems like if you have to, you should be able to grind the ends off so that they will push through all the way?
EDIT: Of course that doesn't help you get the new ones in. Duh.

If you take the cap off the inside of the housing you can get to the nut and inside bearing. to remove the axle you just about have to take the housing off and press apart . when you take the lower pan off. there is a snap ring holding the gear to axle. but there usually stuck and need a press to remove.

I don't believe there is a snap ring holding the gear to the axle. It's a tapered spline and a big nut and lockwasher holds the bullgear on the axle. There is a snap ring on the axle that holds the bearing cup in place.
There are 9 parts behind the cap that have to be removed to drive or press the axle out of the bullgear.
When you get the cap off and the pan off you will see what has to go to press the axle out of the gear. Putting it back together is fun too. You may want to make a special wrench for the big nut

My C has the same problem. The previous owner just put a couple of bolts in with the nut on the inside. I am going to cut the bolt head off and weld a nut in its place so it looks like a lug and put a nut on the inside. Should work and look somewhat like the rest.
