On A D10 or d12, where does the Anti-Surge Spring on the carburetor hook to?…I thought on mine it was on the 2nd manifold stud from the front.
I reinstalled it here, but after rebuilding the carb, with the spring in place, it wants to pull the throttle lever forward and won’t let the tractor fully idle down.

I suspect you have it connected to the wrong stud. From the hole in the rod, it goes up and connects to the nearest stud forward. Here is a picture of it on my D14. If you have the 149 engine, it should be much the same. ![]() |

Yes, that’s how it is on my D14, but different manifolds on the d10 and d12….the nearest stud isn’t a stud on these; they used cap screws on the two lowest manifold holes.

I think you have to go higher up to connect to an actual stud.
