I’m looking for the pin in the hand crank shaft that engages the engine front pulley on a WD
What is the size and nomenclature for the pin. Is it tapered ?

Certainly not tapered. I think a common 5/16" roll pin about 2 to 2 1/2" long is what it takes. It could be 3/8" diameter but anyway, it is a very common size. Too short and it doesn't engage the jaws well. Too long and it won't go into the jaws.

It is a common roll pin....hardware store or farm store

I think the one in my WD was just solid round stock, but no clue if it was original or not. It was sure stuck in there.

The original was a solid pin and many have been changed to a roll pin just because of the difficult removal.

Originally it was a round stock probably put in cold when the crank was hot it didnt come out. I replaced mine with 5/16" round stock 2 1/4" long and tack welded in place

My WD45 had a solid dowel pin. 3/8x2.5"
I have a whole box of them here. I couldn't find just one pin and had to buy a box when I put mine back together
