1941 Allis-Chalmers Model "B"

Owned by Will Milby of Greensburg, Kentucky




QUESTION:

I see two types of front axles on "B"s; the inverted "Texas Longhorn" style like the one pictured; and, a more normal adjustable style.

Is this difference in axles an option; or, is there a point in production where the inverted style stops and the normal style begins ?

Also, of all the many "B"s I have seen and photographed, I have yet to see a tricycle; was the "B" ever offered in tricycle ?

the "wish bone" axle was the standard for years and probably on 90% of the Bs that were made.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Interesting Model B Smile
It still has hand brakes but also electric start. Obviously the alternator and distributor are an upgrade, but was the electric start torque tube ever offered with a hand brake Model B?

im not sure there was a " starter torque tube".... i have seen a few tractors that had the starter "DELETE" kit and they just have a plug in the starter hole... an possibly no ring on the flywheel..
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I have a '39 B and the bell housing is smooth. No starter mounting and no ring gear on the flywheel.  '41 Deluxe had electric start.

Yup, this is what I was referring to. After ~84 years there is no telling what may have been swapped around though.
