You fellas found any kind of slippers or socks that work? I'm wearing L L Bean slippers now, but my feet are still cold. Just wondering, Thanks!

Thick wool or wool blend socks and shoes or boots with thick soles. I won't buy anything from LL Bean since they started catering to the liberal tree hugger crowd. For just a quick trip outside to walk the dogs I will slip on a pair of Crocs with no socks. I figured that my feet would freeze but they are surprisingly warm.

Must be something in the air - now socks with slippers , and last week socks to sleep in .
Thinking back to Navy times I got a supply of Navy Cold Weather Socks and wore them year round - must have got 20 pair and lasted a few years after I got out . Now just thick cotton most of the time but wish I could find some medium weight wool for daily use . |

My feet always get cold when I'm just sitting around being lazy. Guess I need to stir around more? Still not over knee surgery so that's part of my problem. Tried wool socks but they don't work. Thanks

Was born Cold Natured, body temp stays around 97.8-98.2 unless sick. BP is normal for a fifty year old as I close on 70 128/82 last check but as such hands and feet always cold in winter, summer always cool to warm, Doc checked ankle and wrist pulse points all good and strong, Blood O2 at every finger same at 96-97. Have slept under sheet and blanket since a child with NO AC in St Louis Summers, sleep tucked in currently Sheet Blanket, Comforter and house at 70 degrees to suit the wife's heat flashes.
Worked the power station, Jeans, long sleeve over a t-shirt summer or winter Inside or out and most times winter a light jacket over the above, summer would Farmer Roll the long sleeves but always wore even in 100+ degrees turbine hall temps. Wool Socks never aided, neither did Pajamas the wife bought for me as she would catch a cold hit off my feet or my knees and wake her up at night!! I wear gloves at work, previous and current, hands get too cold have to access a warm spot and bring them back up, gloves slow the cool off but have not ever stopped it.

wife has a heating blanket draped over her when we watch TV at night.. If my feet get cold i just stick them under the blanket.. Most of the time i dont wear socks in the house.. Do have a tendency to put a pair on sometimes in the winter.

Well,, my feet and my fingers are my weak points,,,once they get cold,,I just as well give up wjhatever I'm doing and go find a warm place,,,. The thing is,,I cannot layer up when I go outside. A long sleeve flannel shirt and my Hoodie or the Carhart with the hood,,,and more than that means I'm headed inside,,,,

Merino Wool for me. My feet sweat a lot so I have to change socks twice a day. I carry a duffel bag in the pick up when traveling so I can change.

I know this'll sound crazy but.... take 2000-3000(2 or 3 pills) of Vitamin D. I noticed years ago, that from Nov to Mar, my toes feel 'tingly cold', maybe 'cool' to touch. When I take Vitamin D, they don't. Also don't get 'athalete's feet' either. Hay, can't hurt, might help....

well... i learned something new today !!
-------- Brushtail Possum Socks are an ultralight must have. Made from a combination of New Zealand's brushtail possum fur, and New Zealand Merino lamb's wool, these socks are sure to keep your toes nice and toasty. These socks are very thick and warm! They are rugged enough to hike in on cold days, and they also make excellent sleep socks. They are great for winter sports as well. |

As children we use to kill the possum for the fur we were get $80/kg 23 dead possums per kg of fur the fur is hollow so holds air which warms up and holds the heat .you see dead possum on the rural roads all the time .

. Wear thermal underwear and the blood getting to your feet will be warmer. A scarf, even just around the house, works for general body heat. .
