My series IV D17 has a loader, the steering works fine when the loader is not on but when the loader is on the power steering is very weak. I started looking for a new pump but $600-800 is crazy for the ones I’ve been finding. What other options do I have? Can the one I have be rebuilt?
190XT Series III, D17 Series IV, D15 Series II, All Crop 66 and a whole mess of equipment.

The power steering pump could be worn, but if it isn't leaking oil out the shaft, it's probably as good as any of them. I don't know how long you've used this tractor on a loader, but the power steering is a power assist system. So it isn't as good as say a 170 or 180 with hydrostatic power steering. Make sure your power steering belt
 is tight and in good condition. A slipping belt will make your power steering weak. Also, pump up the front tires to 30 psi minimum for loader work. Lastly, if you change the power steering oil (5 quarts) and switch to 821/821XL hydraulic fluid, it will help if the pump is worn internally because it is a little heavier in viscosity. The power steering pump might be fine while the power steering control valve could be the problem. Try these other things first.

I always flow rate the pump first .Takes away the guess work .If pump is bad get them rebuilt or replace .If good go to next step in the system.

I dont know if this will help or not. When i grease front spindles I jack up the axle to take pressure off the bottom so grease can get between where the weight is resting

I'm very surprised a NEW replacement power steering pump is even available from anyone, let alone for $600 to $800 bucks. That sounds like the price for a good USED pump.
