Couldn't get mine under 4300 no weight but I do have a 3pt hitch. Don't think it weighs 700# though. |

Don't know what to tell you. I've tractor pulled mine in 4,000 lbs several times over the years with 200 lbs of me and two 90 lb weights and made the 4K weight class.

Interesting. Norm's book lists WD45-1953 year- as 3955 from Nebraska test 499. I may have to put mine on the scales here and see what it is. They list ballasted weight as 8005 lbs for the same gas tractor. Man they sure pounded the weight to it!!!!!

Mine is a 1957 build and the rear tires are BKT's which may be lighter than old school rubber.

My 53 NFE scales out pretty similar to the Doctor's. Pulled it in 4000 many times with 16.9x28 Firestone Field and road, weight bracket on the front and one suitcase weight. Probably had a fairly full fuel tank too.

Maybe some liquid ballast in the tires? I used to get mine in the 3500 lb. class, with no PTO shaft, rock shaft, hydraulic cylinders or rear platform and a narrow front end. They did allow us 100 lbs. over (3600 lbs.).

Shipping weight is listed as 4465 lbs so I guess they left the factory with loaded tires.

Factory filled, YES......Nebraska Test bare weight included a DRIVER. So, if you take 3955 lbs minus 200 lbs that is 3755 total weight. I'd imagine the fuel tank was full of fuel for another 105 lbs lowering the weight to 3650 lbs bare weight with NFront.

WF, no ballast. Tires were tubed and had been off the year before for new tubes. 10 ply tires so they were heavy, but without dropping the 3pt I couldn't make 4000lb. Ended up pulling 4500lb open class and took second.

So as you can see I had not enough to do today. So I washed a few vehicles and then scaled the WD45. Lol. So 1954 WD45. All stock except rear tires and rims. I have 13” rims and 14.9 x 28 Firestones. About 1/2 tank of fuel and factory drawbar in place. 3651 lbs is first pic total weight. Next pic just shows the setup. Last pic is with a driver on board but not me! I’m not that heavy(300 lbs as you can see). For a total of 3943 lbs. Time well wasted.

My 12 volt battery is probably a few pounds lighter than an old school 6 volt and my toolbox is always empty when I go pulling!! Thank you for the "weigh-in" numbers !!
