OMG Dave, that brings back a LOT of memories!!  That was GREAT television back then and it can't be compared to the crap that is on today.

As for his banjo style, Clark said in 1985, "When I started playing, you didn't have many choices to follow, and Earl Scruggs was both of them." 
Clark won the National Banjo Championship in 1947 and 1948, and briefly toured with a band when he was 15.

Trent was also known for his signature phrase, "Uh-huh, oh yeah," a phrase that originated in a sketch he performed on Hee Haw.

Remember doing that back in the day.....

Who would've thought a couple people would use racist, Marxist rhetoric for personal gain?
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
