my butt! with the purchase of a newer tractor (red one) I had to detatch my 21 ft disk from my old Case tractor. had a one inch drawbar pin in it and it was TIGHT! tried jacking up the tongue of the disk with a floor jack, it wouldn't lift it. sooooooo....figgered i'd hafta cut the pin out. ground on that pin til the grinder got so hot it quit! let it cool and gring til it quits again. that is some kinda hard metal in that pin! have a cut off grinder but was to far away to string out cords, prolly would have used up all the electric by the time it got to the end of the cords anyway! went and bought a new Dewalt battery angle grinder, put a cut off wheel on it and.....shucks.....took about a minute to cut thru the pin! whew! now have the disk hooked up to the newer tractor....and now....gotta grease everything! the old lady.....ooooooops......I mean the loving wife had bought me a new Dewalt battery grease gun for me years ago, but I hadn't used it yet. dug it off the shelf with 2 new batteries that came with it....they was dead of course, couldn't find any charger for them type batteries, asked local Dewalt dealer if they had just a charger, they said Nope...discontinued! $&#*$@, he said all 18v Dewalt items have been discontinued. well that's just GREAT! but he did say there is an adapter to put on them and then the 20V batteries will make them work again! guess i'll be going to the store later today, would hate to hafta buy another new grease gun and batteries!

Wish I knew that a few weeks ago. I got rid of all my 18volt stuff including one of those adapters.
I’ll look and see if maybe I still have a charger.

I bought a 19.2v set Craftsman 20 years ago and still use it.. Son had a set and couple years ago we "upgraded" his set to the newer 20v tools ... He also has an "adaptor" so he can use 20v batteries on the older 19.2 v tools..... There are also "adaptors" for Dewalt and Milwaukee to allow different battery use.

So, it’s been hooked up so long the pin seized in the drawbar and /or hitch??? So when you cut it off, still had to drive it out or whatever?? Boy, that’s a new one.

went to the farm store, the "help" were not of any assistance! I had to tell them each step they needed to do just so I could look at their inventory that was locked in a big glass enclosure...after asking questions all I would get is a stare into the case and a "I think so" answer! then I had to tell them (2 of them) to get a key to unlock the cabinet. they looked at me and said...uh...yeah...I guess we could do that! they had a charger for my batteries for $130. and an adaptor for my 20V batteries to work on my grease gun for $50. bought the adaptor and put it all together on the grease gun....WooHoo...it worked! now we'll see if that will get any grease in the disk, all the zerks are rusty, put one of them thingy's that holds onto the zerks to help force the grease thru them without pushing out the sides. I also had to go get a new battery for one of my 180's, checking the shelves, I came across one battery that was all spiffy clean, but marked with one of them electric marking tools that the store uses to date the bought date, the batteries I buy anymore are free replacement on 24 month time periods. seems to work out well when you don't use something alot and the go deader than dead over winter! the battery I saw was already marked with a 2022 date on it. I thoght that was just wrong! what's so new about a seized pin T-bone? the pin wasn't seized, I didn't notice until I got it cut off that the pin was bent some which wouldn't allow it to be pounded up and out and there was a strong bind on the hitch/drawbar.

yeah Steve, that's the adaptor I bought, cept it was $50 here at the farm store. when I have time, i'll try to buy stuff on Amazon, have gott'en some stuff there.

Shameless, could you have put a Hydraulic bottle jack under the pin and pushed the pin out? I have used that method along with a floor jack.

Currently using up all my Dewalt 18v stuff, then going to dispose of them, some are twenty plus years old and tired. NOT going back to more cordless junk that is obsolete in a few years and going back corded, bought a genny to run them on sites without direct connect power. CHEAPER in the long run, SOME Inconvenience when lay out cords or having to gas Genny HOWEVER, can run everything off ONE Genny as need as NOT a crew of ten to twenty, just myself, and not dependent of expensive rebuilt or replacement batteries every few months to years that also do not last.
Have seen the disposal BARRELS of old tools going to scrappers at Lowes, HD, some other independent lumber yards, ALL leading names of tools ALL obsoleted. Some power drivers less than 3 years old, JUNK, burned out 3/8 and 1/2 drills of all makes in PILES as are not rebuildable economically. Not worth the discard rate to me.

What’s so new about a seized pin? Gee, I don’t know. I’ve been around a farm for about 50 years, and have never seen one, nor have I ever heard anyone tell a story about one. Now I meant seized with corrosion, not in a bind mechanically, which of course I’ve seen that. You just said yourself it wasn’t seized it was bent…..so….apparently you understood what I meant. Sorry I guess we don’t speak the same.

My battery tools are 19.2 v and have been for 20 years... Never out of date... I buy two aftermarket batteries every 2 years ( about $60 a pair) as replacements and keep the other two that are 2 years old... When they get to 4-5 years, they normally get retired.... Im not taking a generator or stretch a cord to the areas i have to go !
got a grinder with 6 inch cutoff wheel, two drills, skill saw, recip saw, and hex drive impact.. I use the impact almost daily..

I buy replacement batteries for my 18v Dewalt from Batteries Plus. Less expensive and they last longer.
A bent hitch pin can be a real pain in the rear.

Shameless, did you use a 7/8" hitch pin this time ? I left my 2 5/16" hitch in pickup over winter, had to yank it out saturday to put the lighter 1 7/8" in to empty trash trailer. My anchors in shop floor paid off.

KJ...yes I did! if the 1 inch bent, this one will prolly break! lol I also have a stuck hitch in one of my burbs and on a pickup. been squirting them with panther p*ss as often as I remember to! prolly hafta heat them up. was always gonna put pull points in my shop, but never did! just have a big ole tree!
