Since Joe's frostbite cold water issue got me thinking about
the junky toilets we have.
What is the best brand of toilet to get?
Haven't been real satisfied with any I have bought over the years.
Slow flushing toilets have caused me some drain issue and I fixed that to some extent, but I don't really want an Al Bundy turbo flush either I don't think.

Suggestions?

Dang, and I was going to suggest a Ferguson!

Seriously though, we built our house roughly 15 years ago and installed Mansfield crappers.  They seem to be good, only problem is the guts are special, if you need to replace them you have to get Mansfield guts.

American Standard Cadet Pro tall elongated. Can't buy them at Lowe's or Menards. Can order one through Walmart.com or purchase through local wholesale house. They used to only sell to plumbers but most will sell to anyone

Going to happen in the next month or so.

Crecent Moon toilet never clogs and doesn't require a large amount of flush water.

We have American Standard toilets in our house that we're happy with . Just may need to upgrade to chair height . So I checked these out . Seems crazy that the bone color is $100 more . Wonder why ? Thanks

Replaced 2 of old units with Mansfield units and had first time log not go down the other night . Been real happy with the units being low water flush and also like the idea they have if you lift the handle during a flush it shuts off water going to bowl .
Nice for the yellow flush - as only use 1/2 the water to clear bowl .

2 things I know

1st, the 25 year old ,perfectly good, American Standard ALWAYS flushed EVERYTHING away with ONE  press and NEVER left any 'residue' on the bowl....

2nd, if you have more than one toilet in the house, get then ALL the same !!! A silly, 'that's not much', 1/2" distance in height can really throw you 'off your game' at 2 in the morning....

I ordered some bone colored toilets last year for a customer. Took 3 months to show up. Bone has fallen out of the trendy colors. Biscuit or Linen are popular now . Not as dark as bone. Price those colors and see what you can come up with . This day and age if you want something that is not "mainstream" you are going to pay up . Give the corporations a reason to charge more they will.

For those stubborn logs, you can hold the handle down until a second surge happens, never had that second surge not clear a log.  My kid on the other hand could plug an eight inch straight pipe somehow.

No residue?!  The 4th Marx Brother?  Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Skid???  Come on now, you must not be eating right.  Maybe no survivors. . . . but never residue???  Bah!

All five toilets here are Am Std. Taller height, elongated bowl and Guaranteed to flush most anything.  Now skids are still a issue.  Not ever seen a bowl not even in industrial wall mounts that would clean off smears!!

I had trouble with two American Standard Champion(AS) WC's that I bought from HD about 5 years ago. #1 develop a crack in the bottom of the bowl and then a crack on the outside flange. Sent photos to AS and they sent a complete new replacement (#3). About a year later the front of the tank on WC#2 cracked. Fortunately an new tank had been included with #3. Last year the tank on the other WC#3 cracked. No more spare tanks, I noticed that the bowl of #2 had a crack so I bought a new #4 (not AS) took replace #2 and took #2's tank to replace #3's tank. I now search product reviews first before buying anything.

What I know about plumbing is "chit rolls downhill and payday is friday".
As far as the skid marks, that's what a good prostate or a young boy that can pee a 2x4 in half is for.
Lost a bet with one of my grandsons. He was 5 or 6 and said he had to pee so I told him to go pee off the end of the porch. We were both along with his dad on the back porch. Then told him if you can hit your grannies lilac bush there is $10 dollars in it for you. My son told me it was a bad bet. It's 4' from the end. As luck would have it he soaked it down pretty good.

Our Am Std WC units are all Cadet 3 series, only one had issues with I broke the bowl.  One in shop, four in house.

Still happy with Mansfield 386 a year later, swallows everything I've shot at it so far.
