Guys I am reading the B manual right and the trans/diff/PTO/hydrualics all share the same sump and take 20w oil. I thought the trans and diff were seperate from the pto and hyd.
Also I have the engine tore down and the block is craked between the cylinders. Are you guys running them or should I try to find a used block.

Yes,  The model B rear, transmission, and PTO Hyd are all in one sump.  When they were new we put 20W non detergent oil in them.  Worked fine.  However, I have heard very successful reports of trans hyd oil being used.  Others will have to chime in for exact information.  To prevent the oil from the hyd system to move to the front and rear when moving up or down hill there was a gasket dam between the pinion gear case and the PTO.  Worked fine.

Don, you are too nice of a guy for me to make a crack about your craked block. LoL
Cracks between the cylinders are so common most consider them original equipment.  Unless they look really bad, leave her be.   On the B, the engine oil is separate and the trans, diff. and hydraulics share.

Cracks between the cyclinders at the top is normal. Head gasket will seal to the top of the liners. I use hytran universal hydraulic fluid. No problems.

If the crack is up top where the sleeve shoulders there is no problem running it as long as it is not shifted, one side higher than the other. If the cracks are down in the bottom where the o-rings seal, look for a different block.
