The generator has two terminal ..  Field and Armature  "F" and "A"... the "F" is basically the ground ( thru the light switch... So you take a jumper and touch a the HOT terminal of the battery (negative) to the "A" terminal on the generator.. to get a spark ( 1 second).... Note that the BATTERY terminal might go to the amp meter, then out to the CUTOUT switch on the generator... If it is still that way, then you can touch the jumper from the INPUT to the CUTOUT to the OUTPUT or "A" wire.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Not meaning to highjack this thread but what if you have a regulator and not a cutout? 6v positive ground.

same procedure... You can touch the BAT terminal of the regulator to the G terminal of the reg which goes to the A terminal of the generator..

All you are doing is TELLING the GENERATOR that the "A terminal is to charge to PLUS or MINUS on the battery.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
