I’ve had the gerotor pump just rear of the hinge on my 7580 off several times too fix leaks. Finally was told as the pump gets wore out it start to leak externally something about more than the center hole can return to the tractor housing. So I had pump rebuilt that got the leak down manageable for a bit now it’s leaking like crazy again. Was that same pump used on other Allis’s? That pump has been an Achilles heal of the tractor.

Are you talking about the steering rotary valve?
And did you check the pressure to the valve? Seems like too much pressure could affect component life. |

I've been meaning to respond to this problem, but kind of forgot about it. I only ever had four of these 7580 tractors I ever worked on. None of them ever had gerotor pump issues of any kind, but this has been many years ago. All that pump does is provide filtered oil lubrication for bearings, gears, brakes and PTO clutch discs, and in the end, charge oil for the implement pump. I have no idea what kind of leaks you're experiencing, but this pump is very low pressure (less than 200 psi) and sucks oil from the left hand filter and pumps it thru the right hand filter and circulates oil around in the rear end housing. I can't imagine why there would be a leaking issue of any kind. I see at s/n 2650 and newer they changed the suction line from the left filter to the gerotor pump itself. Looks like maybe a simpler design and maybe less places to leak, but that would be on the underside area. Maybe you have a shaft seal leak at the gerotor pump?? which then leaks on the ground?? That would probably take a different/new housing/shaft bushing and it appears to be different than any 2WD tractor, exclusive to the four-wheel drive models.
