I have a couple 12.5Lx15 tires on a couple gravity wagons that are probably about due for replacement. I’m not at all interested in anything Chinese or from India. I’m looking for recommendations of what to buy and what to avoid. I know I don’t need stubble stompers, I always fill the wagons in the drive. I doubt that I could get a full 250bu wagon out of the field with either the D17D or my pickup.

Mine too.
Although I have used light truck tires currently on one running gear here, well used but usable for a wagon. Edited by DMiller - 22 Sep 2021 at 3:32am |

All the years I worked for the neighbor, there was a running that was either under a hay rack, or a gravity box. That running gear had all 4 tires were automotive tires. That running never had a flat in the eight years I worked there. That was not a small time farm, at the time they owned eight farms, dairy, beef, and swine. All running gears were used a lot.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I always use used LT tires I get from a local tire shop. They're FREE and I can have as many as I need at any time.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I just bought a 18.4 34 10 ply(830$) rear tractor tire and molded in the tire it says made in Turkey. I bought Carlisle because I thought they were made in Carlisle, Pa.

Headed to Monroe to pick up three same size you mention. Harvest King brand, not sure of origin. I will report back on that. I must not have as good of luck with tires as those of you running the auto tires! Having a flat on a wagon full of grain is a MAJOR pita!! Not going to chance that over a few $$.

We have been buying 10ply Harvest King tires the last 6 or so years, very good luck. Before that was Firestone and American Farmer tires, both cracked prematurely. Not sure if they are USA sourced. Something to keep in mind— truck tires steer much harder than ag tires when wagons are loaded! That to me would cause more tie rod stress and not so good for the road over a period of time.

Hewitt's is correct. If you can get them for $112 you should jump on that! What would shipping run? Overheard Steve talking to another customer, said he is having a terrible time getting tires.
