i just purchased a very nice unmolested 300 hr d262 from the hog farm up the road. It was used on a gen set as a backup to the backup and only started twice a year. It runs perfect, i was interested in using it to repower my buckeye 301 trencher, though after splitying the generator unit off of it the apparent differences between bellhousings and flywheel have me nervous that perhaps id be better off with the chrysler industrial 265 that is already powering the machine. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

If your trencher has a SAE bell housing, find a bell housing from a old A Gleaner combine and use it.                     MACK

Wish i could figure out how to post pictures on here..
What is a really nice low hour d262 worth?
Not alot of old gleaner combines around these parts with scrap way up again they get turned into razor blades.
Bellhousing on my buckeye is an inch or more wider, mounts on bottom, its a two piece, does anyone know what sae the d262 is?
The 262 has a recessed flywheel, the chrysler flywheel is flat
