The engine belly pan was missing from my 7G-B when I purchased it. I am starting to do some clearing where it may become an issue. Just curious if anyone knows approximately how thick the metal is that the original is made from. I think I have enough scrap metal to make one but don't want to build any thicker than necessary or too thin. Thanks!

The belly pan metal should be 7/16 or 1/2 and you could check the transmission and torque need to be protect

This was the 7G unit I had repaired, was 1/4" thick and appeared as OE.

I just pulled the transmission belly pan on mine and it was 1/4 inch. I'm not sure of engine belly pan yet.
Anyone have any ideas on steering and transmission shifting issues? Transmission pressure dropping, and the filters and screens appear good. I only pulled the screen at the very bottom of the transmission, but it was super clean. Steering filter was clean. Is it a pump issue? Final Drive? The final drive going out wouldn't cause my transmission pressure to drop sporadically would it? That doesn't make sense to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

G-B was a little different than the 7G but trans was the same. According to information I dug thru the peddle steer clutch actuation could be problematic at times but the main issue on the 7G was seal failures internal to clutch packs.
I dealt with that on my 7G when had it. Are not much available for these where I ended up working thru a hydraulics shop to make different styles work. The trans shift seals at the ends of the clutch pack shafts were the hardest to come up with and worst leakers. |

Did you removed the front transmission streaner it is the first one to check.

The bolts holding the pans on the 6g's are fine threaded. I don't know if the 7's are the same.
