I wonder if any of these were ever at Hutch? I would think it would be fun to find one even if it had no motor or tranny. A person could easily adapt a Chevette or Caviler engine to one. Not sure the old frame would stand anything heavier.

Chalmers Motor Company was an American car company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. It started in 1908 and continued production of high-end vehicles until 1923 when it merged with Chrysler. On October 28, 1908, Chapin, Coffin, and others formed the Hudson Motor Car Company to pursue their desires to build a smaller car. The largest investor was a department store owner, Joseph Hudson.[3] Hugh Chalmers was also a large investor in Hudson. [3] In 1909–10, Hugh Chalmers and his partners sold their shares in Hudson to Chapin, and Chapin sold his stake in Chalmers Motors to Hugh Chalmers.[2] Hudson built a factory across the street from the Chalmers plant to be close to suppliers and the railroad.[2] Edited by Coke-in-MN - 16 Jan 2021 at 10:04pm |

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

Several years ago I stopped at an automotive museum in the small town of Elkhorn, Manitoba that had several unique and rare automobiles including a Chalmers.

There is a garage in Henderson, MN that has a Chalmers Motor Company sign on it with two vintage cars sitting in the "showroom". I have never stopped to see what they are, but assume to be Chalmers Motor cars.

They were not related to Allis Chalmers. But they are a cool old car. They won most of the races they were entered into.

There is a good possibility that a running Chalmers car will be at Hutch this year for the GOTO

The Hudson I remember would have been around 1949 give or take a couple of years.
