A "bad" piston pump many times isn't a serious issue. A broken spring in the compensator control valve for example. Sometimes a broken spring on the swash plate. A proper diagnosis is needed or a teardown of the pump to inspect. The piston pump is the lifting pump. The gear pump is for power steering and the gerotor pump is for the transmission, but they are all connected together as one.

I'd be looking in a salvage yard. Don't think you will ever find one except thru AGCO or another AC tractor. They were designed specifically for those tractors.

That cannot ever happen. That hydraulic system is designed to have a variable volume/variable pressure hydraulic pump. Those pumps don't fail very often. Many have been neglected over the years with few oil/filter changes.

I have a pump from my parts tractor that was supposed to be in good working condition.

I cannot confirm that but so far everything the previous owner said was good has been good, everything that was bad was as they said.

I can get numbers off it and pictures if you'd like.
