Had Friday off work, was going to run the sub-soiler, too wet. Apparently you need sunny conditions to dry the stubble or it just clumps up. Thought I had that problem solved, maybe not. Anyway, what to do. Put the battery and a fresh starter in WD Micha. Good to have that one up and going again. Still several hours of daylight left when it hit me. Lets change tires! Put the 16.9X28's from the rim project on the 'Narrow-Front' and move the 14.9's over to Micha. The tires on it were getting really cracked. Been looking for a good set of 13.6X28's for it for a long time. Found none, so here we go. I had already put a set of WD45 tall fender brackets on, ready to go. I'm not sure if things are going to stay like this or not. I love the big rubber on the 45 but it may be too tall to work right with the sub-soiler. Looking at the forecast, may be done with it for this year anyway. Took time for a partial line-up while I had them out, all working girls. All in need of a good washing too! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great looking line-up. I like the larger tires on a WD. Thanks for sharing.

Mike, you got some good looking girls right there. Is that a 1984 6080? Nice place you have there, how many cars do you farm?

Mike,
Thanks for the pictures of the tractors! Awesome group of working tractors that lookd to be well maintained and ready to go! Lots of weights! The WD looks good with those rears on it! I must ask. You had some severe wind there in the past? The trees look to have taken a real beating? Regards, Chris

Good eye! Yes, that is my 1066 sitting back there, where the machine shed used to be. Builders are so busy around here we're about 10 months out on the new one. The 6080 is an '84, I think. Was a senior in high school when dad bought it new. It's possible it's an '83. I'll check the serial no. Chris, yes, we had devastating wind in August. Took nine days running the chainsaws to get the yard cleaned up. Couple of pics. ![]() ![]() Edited by IBWD MIke - 23 Nov 2020 at 8:07am |

Good to see you've got all your kindling picked up around the farm. LOL Just what you needed, extra chain saw time. See ya whenever you make a trip up for beer. Call or text and I'll meet you. |

Guys, plenty of saw work left to do! Usually get going on that this time of year, had a belly full back in August. Several trees around the 'yard' that need to come down. Some of those I wanted rid of anyway and the storm got great portions of them down. Went through 10 gallons of saw gas last year, hoping for half or less than that this year. Thinking on the tire thing. I've got a great pair of 13X28 spin-outs left from the D-17. Have a friend who has a new pair of 14.9X28 SAT 2's. Might have to inquire how much he needs for them. Ted, I am getting low on beer and lower on cheese. Need a good reason to get up that way! Have vacation days left that have to be used before the end of the year. Need to stop at Kenny's and get that cultivator some time.
