Need some information of the AC 5220, I know it has a Japanese engine, is the whole tractor Japanese?  Are parts available?  Is there another brand that is identical?  Is there a forum site that deals with these small Japanese tractors?  One side of the front axel is broken, I am thinking the short stub axel and hub, but haven't seen the tractor.

Please get me pointed in the right direction.  "Tractor Data" seems to be a little confused.

Run away!  Made entirely by a Japanese company that no longer exists.  You will have better luck finding a unicorn than those 4WD parts.

You might try importtractorpartsnet.  They carry a lot of parts for imported ACs and Oliver’s.

Back when they came out in the 80's, I am sure they were probably pretty good.  BUT that was 35 years ago.  Not many were sold, Hinimoto went out of business, obviously the 4wd axles had weak spots, and the aftermarket is not making parts for tractors sold in small numbers.

I am just calling a spade a spade.  I am sure it would have been pretty easy to get the Deutz Allis name on it.  Every company has had their share of duds, even AC.

Thank you all, it sounds as if D Series 4 has good advice.   But I am sending this info to my son and he can research parts.  Tractor may be free!   "one thing worse than a cheap dog is a free dog"

The Allis 6140 was also made by Hinomoto and uses the Toyosha 3-cylinder diesel engine. Parts - meh... Some are still available new, most are only going to be found used. I believe the 5220 will be exactly the same trying to find parts. I'm pleased with my 6140 but wouldn't have bought it if I had just researched it better ahead of time. Buying one is infinitely more simple than trying to sell one after you bought it.
I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250!

Buy it, use it, when it breaks you'll then have a parts tractor.
