Just picked up a E with a 2 row head.
I see 4 pins that what I believe hold the head on . Large drive belt is off. Am I missing anything else to take head off combine. I see a chain on a sprocket left side next to drive belt does that chain have to come off also.

The four pins are spring loaded. Push (hammer) them in and move into the slot to hold them in.
Took two grain heads off last week.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Release two bottom pins, let head down until theirs 2 inch gap at bottom. Set jacks or blocks on each side. Release top pins and back up.      MACK

Yes that chain has to come off. The tool on clean grain elevator has a dimple in the end to push the 4 wedge pins in. When you get them pushed in slide down in the slot to hold them in the released position. What is the serial number of your E?

My late E(E19600) is closer to an E3 than an early E.

Hard to say. One of mine was stored inside all but the last 3 years before I got it. It had stuck valves. Bought an f that was in the pasture for 25 and it started and drove off trailer.

Going to help a friend get a 6600 gas that has been in the weeds for 10 years tomorrow. Hope for the best as he wants to take it to the field this fall!
