1-2-3-4 is that from the front of the tractor going to the back I asume ? and how about on the distributor cab. It does have a 1 by one of the post on the inside of the cab. I assume that #1 cylinder goes there maybe ? but looking at the cap from the top on the distributor. is 2-3-4 clock wise or counter clock wise around the cap or how should the wires be placed on the cap.
Thank you.

As Dr. Allis says, they should be placed on the cap 1243. The rotor turns clockwise as you look at it from the top. #1 cylinder is at the front of the tractor. if the distributor is installed correctly the terminal toward the front and toward the block is usually #1 and in a clockwise fashion you then go 243. However, you can install the distributor so that any spot is timed to #1 and then place the wires accordingly starting at #1. So, just need to check that the rotor is pointing to #1 when #1 cylinder is at TDC at thye beginnig of the power stroke.

Ok thank you folks. The wires are good. Think I have a electrical issue somewhere. I have no spark coming out of the coil. Brand new coil. As I thought the other coil went bad. No I did not check it. When I got the coil originally the spark produced was getting weak. So figured my coil went. So now I need sugestions on the no spark. I have a new wiring harness in it. I also replaced the starting switch with another one. The one I had in there fell apart.
Thank you.
