Is you folks PBS stations dominated by cooking, sewing, painting shows too? Ours is run by gals and I think it reflects the female thinking. Used to have a lot of guy shows on during the week, but no longer. PBS 1 is kids stuff from 6:00 am till 5:00 pm. PBS 2 is all kids stuff. PBS 3 is usually world crap or opera.    PBS 4 is travel, cooking, painting, all pointed towards the female gender/kids. PBS 1 on Sat night has some English mystery shows, most are decent. But the new ones are definatly pointed towards their female audience.

we get ONE version of WNED (PBS) here in Hamilton, though they have 4 'subchannels'. One of them is 100% woodworking style programs. I might have to try internet TV to see them, arrgh... more tech to unravel....

what I find interesting is that PBS is (was...) supposed to be 'commerical free' though they now have LOTS of ads ( ...'from our sponsors'....). when asked if I would support them ($$$), I said get RID of the COMMERCIALS first, THEN I'll open my wallet..... the 'blank look' at the other end of the phone didn't understand...

I get 4 different PBS stations.  #1 the primary channel , #2 (Create) the craft, cooking & travel channel,  #3  PBS kids (cartoons) #4  NHK World (Japan) This actually has better programming that USA networks.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Here in Northern New York (and this station is carried in Ottawa, also):
.1 Main HD feed
.2 Create
.3 World
.4 PBS Kids

This is via Terrestrial antenna. Not sure what cable or Satellite carries.
They used to run Native American programming during the day on one of these, but that has been dropped, apparently.

Why not ??  what is your reasoning?? From what I've watched, they are pretty much politically "neutral" ?? I can't believe they would slam your POTUS for suggesting injecting disinfectant or UV light therapy ?? Confused Does DT have a medical degree by any chance?? He sure thinks he knows more the ones that do Ouch Our PBS station has a MULTITUDE of programs that are FAR from the OP'S observation Wink. Perhaps he's watching at the wrong time of day Smile.

For all your friends who are making fun of POTUS for suggesting injecting disinfectant...you might want to school them a little.

Trump asked about light and disinfectant injected into the body. There are two existing therapies; UV therapy as well as ozone therapy. The one that has the left all riled up is ozone therapy. This has been used for cancer patients: O3 gas is infused into the body as a DISINFECTANT to improve the intake of oxygen while ramping up the immune system, thus more efficiently killing bacteria and viruses. You can Google it if you wish. Trump asked the expert off to the side if testing was being done relative to applying this to the coronavirus. But of course, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSDNC, and company would take his words out of context to make it sound like he looked at the camera and said: “Hey let’s all drink bleach”.
ANY disinfectant inside the body is indeed dangerous and should only be done by a doctor.

A footnote: if you take high amounts of vitamin C yourself, you will wind up with a buildup of hydrogen peroxide inside the body. Hydrogen peroxide is a DISINFECTANT. This is one reason why vitamin C is so effective against viruses on its own...among other reasons.

If you think he would have suggested this lightly with TWO highly qualified medical professionals at his disposal, you are not as bright as you think you may be. Pull your head out of your ass and do some research.

Stupidity makes you dangerous--to yourself and everyone around you.

As for PBS, of the small handful of decent programs it broadcasts, its the allocation of taxpayer dollars to operate that grates on me. In this day and age of technology there is no need for a government sponsored media outlet, be it television, radio, print, or whatever.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.
