Plowing with mine and dads new play toy.
original engine was bad so we swapped in the engine from Dad's 190xt series 3. Verry tough little tractor. Engine has not seen work or use in 4 years. Plow is ih 510 16inch 5bottoms. We call the tractor the Prototype 180xt. https://photos.app.goo.gl/9nmEX3ft9BWEiRnf9 Im going to try this and see if it works. Edited by Ronnie - 17 Apr 2020 at 8:23am |

Wow that’s neat. I have a 190 XT and I’ll bet that made one good running 180. I love the sound and performance of a 301 turbo.

One-Eighty diesel + turbocharger + only 6,000 lbs? (impossible- shipping weight is 7500) + a 5 bottom moldboard plow, usually ends up with the differential getting ripped out in not too many acres of tough plowing. Why ?? Because the land wheel spins too much and the differential is made for 75 HP max.

301s turbo is whistling while operator is stopped to drop the plow. It’s always sound great when the 301 is pulling. Once the plow has moved into the distance, I can hear the Dodge pickup’s Cummins engine idling.

I assume the "whistling" is through a "straight pipe" ?? Our 190 XT has a muffler on it and I've never heard a "whistle" ( wish I did LOL). And our turbo has been replaced with in the past 7 years.

Needs a bottom dropped off for that tractor. It may have plenty of power, but the tractor just cannot handle it.

Yep thats y this was a one time thing with 5 bottoms.
All most hooked the 6 bottoms up. Going to try to get a 3 bottom plow for it so i dont heart the rear end. |

Really great way to mess up a field is to have to keep raising the plow out of the ground so the tractor can pull it. I couldn't watch more than about 1/2 way, lol!

There's some people on this site that really shouldn't comment on post because they don't have anything nice to say.
I didn't post this to get criticized on it by people. |

Sorry if offended anyone. Just call them as I see them. I see way too often guys trying to pull too big a plow, because it is cool, but it's frustrating having to keep raising it to get it moving.

What is your "criteria" for this site "losing" members ?? Apparently (I did not partake in your video) the plowing methods were a little unorthodox ??
