220 temp gauge

Bought a new temp gauge for my 220. When I turn the ignition switch on the hand goes up to the middle of the white range. Running the tractor for ten minutes the gauge is in the red (hot) when my infrared thermometer says 150 degrees at the thermostat housing. My question is. Are there sending units with different ohm/resistance ratings? I know fuel gauges can be that way. If so I don’t know how to match a water temp sender with a gauge. Thanks for reading.

If you buy the gauge and the sender from AGCO, they are meant for each other.

yes different ohms. on sending units. (buddy had same issue with his case 1370)

There were several different ranges for gauges over the years in the automotive world. The ones I know are 9-73 ohms for Ford from the 60's to the 90's. 240-33 Stewart Warner, and 0-90 for GM. None of these are currently in use except for maybe Stewart Warner. I'm sure there are other ranges for other brands. Like Dr says, you need a gauge and sender intended to work together for it to read accurately.
