I have a D10 and want to attach a finish belly mower. What is the best mower to fit this tractor? I have seen the Woods L59 recommended for the B, but do not know if this will work with the D10.

It's all about the brackets. They should have the D-10 kit. If not you can get the closest kit and modify accordingly, OR just get the mower and make all of the brackets yourself! |

The D-10/D-12 essentially replaced the CA as far as horsepower is concerned. I have a Woods L-306 on my CA and get along fine. But, I don't think there is any provision on a D-10 to allow you to stop forward movement and still run the PTO to power the mower (i.e. if you get into tall grass, etc.). I might be wrong about the live PTO but I don't think so.

The B brackets would be the ones you want to start with for a D10. The CA brackets would work on a D12. If you don't have a model with a belt pulley, you'll need to find the large PTO pulley that WOODS made. The rear mount that WOODS made for the D10/12 mowers was adjustable to fit both the narrow D10 and the wide D12. The lift bracket that bolted to the torque tube left something to be desired as for durability. It was bolted on with 2 of the 5/15" bolts for the side sheet in front of the break pedals. I believe that something more substantial would not be to difficult to make. Either a L59 or L306 would work fine on a D10.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I'm not familiar with the D series but I have a L59 on my C and wish I had the wider L306. I have a L59 on a B and it works great. Just something to think about as you don't have a mower yet.

Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

Thanks for all the input. I will be looking for the L306 mower.
Thanks again, Bob

A lot of the parts and mounting hardware are still available from a Woods dealer. Used is better if can be found because of prices for new.

I put a three point on the D12 I had and pulled a Woods 6' mower behind it. I had a L59 on a Farmall A and didn't care for it.
