I have a r-5 and the rotor cage is broken right before the stalks go to the chopper on the bottom my question is can I get by running it this way or can I bend up the cage and weld and patch to get by?

The floor directly before the chopper is a replaceable piece and not part of the cage. Regardless, weld it up or cover it up. It will only continue to open up and allow trash onto the cleaning shoe that shouldn't be there.
