Reusing Bearing Flanges

How many of y’all reuse bearing flanges (on combines for example) and how many replace them? Been having a few interesting conversations with farmers/dealers and it seems everyone has their own different opinion.
Some say reusing them works fine, and others say they have a certain amount of “crush” to them when tightened, and are only a 1-time-use piece because of that.
Thoughts?

I used to reuse, as long as there was a tight fit. But now, with the cost of the flange, vs the cost of the bearing, vs the cost of my labor, I just replace it all.

Have never saw a bearing spin in a flange. With the movement of shaft with twist of machine, a little movement of bearing in flange will go along ways on the life of a bearing. Put that bearing in a bind with new flanges and bearing life is shortened.      MACK

In hard to get to areas we feel inclined to put new on, but if the old ones still grip well, and still have some nice factory paint, we usually re-use. :)
Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

Like you said,many opinions. Only if brg is floating in it. You can make one serviceable by pressing a large 12pt socket over the lip.
