Will belting cut to length with lace style connectors work when replacing belts on roto baler (take the pressure as bales develop)? If not, I see having to totally disassemble the left side to put continuous belts on - ugh! Thanks for any response or ideas

I have ran laced belts on mine for about four years now without any problems. Only make about 3 to 5 hundred bales per year though

Cut and spliced belts will work if they are all exactly the same length. They are just a bit noisy compared the endless ones. I have a complete NOS set of upper and lower endless belts i would consider selling. |

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

As long as the laces are clipper type laces, they will work fine. You don't wanna use any of the more modern type laces, 'cause they are too stiff, and don't bend enough to go around the small rollers, that a roto-baler uses. Google Hammond equipment, faunsdale, (ALA?), they can cut you the proper set, if you need'em...

Back in the 70s we had to replace the roto bailer belts. We had picked something up ane cut one so put a laced belt on . It worked but not as good as the endless belts. At the end of the summer we put a full set of endless belts on. At the time we baled 6000 hay and 1000 straw bales each summer.

Back in the 60s I would go out after work and replace a set of endless belts for 20.00 labor, if the owner would help me set the header off and on. About 1 1/2 hr. MACK

one thing I forgot, of you are replacing laced betts, lace the new belt , to the old belt, and pull the old belt out, as you pull the new one in, saves a lot of time...
