I'm okay here in OK. Although a lot of Okies aren't. Keep seeing on the news, so many houses underwater. Usually in May we don't know what water is, but this year we sure do.

We only got the edge of a storm here, half inch more rain, and very high winds all day yesterday. Mud today again so no garden work/planting/weeding/etc.

I was thinking of you, Creston when the news mentioned flooding in OK.  Are you watching that 4 wheel drive at auction near you?  Still under 5 grand.
Got an inch of moisture yesterday here, including 3" of snow, ahh, Spring in Colorado!

Very disappointed weather men here. They were so excited to be telling us about all the tornado and storm warnings and hail the size of basketballs, death and destruction but all we go in southern Illinois was heavy, heavy rain. Water pouring out of the fields and still over some roads 4 hours after the rain stopped. No farming for another week it seems.

I was thinking of you too Creston. Glad to hear you dodged the bullet. We had a tornado go thru. just a little east off us, but I don't have the latest info. but it was in the area where I was rebuilding a tractor engine for a friend of mine. Haven't been able to contact him, but he's a busy fellow. Tonight we're smack in the middle of a baddd forecast so we'll see. They're forecasting the old Missouri River is going to be snortin' by morning, but it's already really high. Sposed to be seventh highest on record. We were going out tonight but I put the brakes on that. They say things should start by 7 o'clock.    Leon

Almost 6 1/2” of rain in Edmond over the last few days. Glad I bought the house on the hill!

A little update. Storms are roaring through as we type. 70mph winds, huge hail stones, tornado spotted, and it ain't over yet. Just hasn't hit us yet but it's bound to. Oh well. The tornado east of us yesterday went just north of the little shop I've been working in by about 200 yrds, but at least it was a small one with very little damage.    Leon

Well Joe and others. Friends of ours took a direct hit by the tornado that hit Jeff. City. It came through and destroyed everything they owned. Both cars were totaled and the apartment gone. They survived by jumping into the bath tub and the apartment fell in on them. They couldn't get out until the rescue squad got there moved the debris off them. They survived without any energy loss.     Leon

Just got through looking at the damage in Jeff. Weather said it was a EF3 and I can believe. Lot's of damage and pretty wide spread. Some of the litter was dropped on Fulton about 25m north. Jeff. is built on the river hills so it may have limited the damage. Going down and look at the river tomorrow.    Leon

I just heard that Golden City, Mo was hit with a tornado and I'm wondering if Adam Stratton was affected.
Darin, have you heard anything about your family over there?

Also, is Jim Danforth doing ok, treading water, or picking up the pieces around Mounds?

As for me, the first pics that everyone saw on TV of the water rescues earlier this week at "EL Reno, OK" was 8 miles north of me at Hwy 66 and Banner Rd.
It's a wide spot in the road of the town called Banner. It does have a CO-OP.
They're on the north side of a watershed and I'm on the south and the runoff creek runs on the backside of my place.
No flooding out on my place.
All I had here was 4.5 inches in a 5 gallon bucket.
And I live halfway between Union City and Mustang, in the middle of the section NE of Hwy152 and Banner Road.

The flooding of the North Canadian River north of Yukon, OK is being touted as worse than it flooded in '86, I think it was.
And I saw that one, too, but wasn't living down here then.
Talk about water everywhere!!!!!!
It was a shallow lake for miles for awhile!!

We had a storm go through Thursday morning about 2  Thought I lost the roof on my house but the wind blew open my double french patio doors and deluged my house with rain Blew all the soffit on my front porch down and drove the louvers for my whole house fan up into the fan.  Haven't got on the roof yet but only had a couple of ridgecaps on the ground.  Called my insurance man and the secretary said all she had been doing was taking calls and filing claims.

Just got back from looking at the river and it is getting with it. Sposed to be some strong storms go through tonight a little north of us so that may put more rise on the river. And the tornado that went through Jeff. did a lot more damage than they first thought.

Cannot hold it back forever, that is the real problem with extended rains and swollen rivers, at some point COE has to dump what they have retained. If don't it does it by itself and much uglier.

The storms that came thru on Tuesday evening.
We had few limbs come down.
Really did not hurt anything, landed on a old truck and on the ground.
Working on moving items out of the way and trim up the limbs .
Did have couple barn doors, had to repair also.

There is place just north of us less than 1/4 mile , this is the 2nd time in 2 years it has taken that route. Took out the rest of there big trees in there yard moved a trailer home about 2' and there house also received damage.

This place is about 2 miles from us.
