I tried to hitch my Ferguson 2 disc bullet plow to my 5020 yesterday. After struggling for a couple hours I got one arm attached. With the two semi-hitched, it looks to me like the plow is too big for the tractor, and I may be wasting my time. I'm new to both the tractor and the plow, and I wonder if I'm wasting my time. I'm interested in the opinion of anyone who has a better perspective than I have.

2-bottoms of what width ?? I'm pretty sure that is too much plow for a tractor without fluid in the rear tires.

The 5020 is rated at 25HP. I'm gonna guess and say you need a bit more tractor or half the plow.
This plow is on a 45HP tractor ![]() |

The front disc is 20 3/4 in and the rear is 21 3/4 in. I'm not much into high tech, such as posting photos to the Net. Sorry.

I think it might be a good match for my WD if I can get it running.

Plow too big. Get a standard moldboard plow (1 bottom) for a cat 1 compact tractor...

I've been looking since I bought the 5020. There aren't many one bottom plows around. My neighbor had one for sale, but then her daughter decided she wants it. There are more tractors for sale than there are plows.

look online at your local farm store, TSC, Rural King or whatever is local. They have a lot more than they have at the store. They'll ship it into the store so you don't usually have to pay S&H.

There isn't much around here. I just found an outfit that does some serious work on farm equipment, and they aren't online. They sell used equipment, but had no plows, at least not of the size that I need. But I suppose that could change at any time, and I won't know unless I keep checking with them.

I never see that type of plow, other than one someone had on display in their front yard when I lived in Oregon. They never seemed to have caught on. I presume they were either hard to pull or didn't sink in very or other such problem.

For those tractors a Brinly Cat 0 plow would probably work, those compacts don't have a real Cat 1 hitch its something between a Cat 0 and 1.

As said before, those tractors are Compact tractors, so need small implements to match their physical size. They would have plenty of power though, just not enough weight/traction. Every time I use one of my 2 compacts, I'm always amazed at how gutsy the little boogers are!
